Following an accident in 2013, Vance Bergeron was left C6/C7 tetraplegic and subsequently changed his research direction in 2015 to focus on a translational research approach for neurorehabilitation therapies. In the past five years he has gathered regional and international experts to work with him and his association ANTS (https://ants-asso.com/) to provide patients with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools and therapies. He has published over 100 international publications, two book chapters and filed 50 patents in the field of soft condensed matter physics and Chemical Engineering. Created two start-ups in France: AirInSpace in 2002 – biological decontamination of indoor air; and Kurage in 2019 – equipment for advanced neurorehabilitation therapies and sport.
