Stéphane VUILLEUMIER is Professor of Microbiology and Environmental Biology at University of Strasbourg and head of CNRS team Adaptations et interactions microbiennes dans l'environnement (UMR 7156 CNRS - University of Strasbourg molecular genetics, genomics, microbiology). His research interests include the bacterial degradation of halogenated compounds and micropollutants for pollution control, and the microbial metabolism of compounds without carbon-carbon bonds. His team's work involves model strains, laboratory microcosms and in situ microbial ecology studies in a variety of environments (soil, sediment, groundwater, marine environment, phyllosphere and clouds).
