Pilar Acosta was initially trained as an engineer and obtained her Ph.D. in management from ESCP and Université Paris 1 Panthéon -Sorbonne (France). Her research focuses on the evolution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability-related practices in developing countries. She is interested in the interaction between private and public actors to advance grand challenges in the context of limited statehood. She is also interested in the practice and research of meaningful student-centered learning experiences to change conventional business mindsets. Her work has been published in international journals such as ‘Organization Studies’ and the ‘Journal of Business Ethics’, and management education journals. Before integrating École Polytechnique, she was an assistant and associate professor in the school of business and economic sciences at Universidad Icesi in Colombia.
