May Morris

CNRS Research Director at the Max Mousseron Institute of Biomolecules

May Morris develops detection and inhibition approaches for the diagnosis and targeting of anticancer biomarkers. She studied biology at the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland, then did a PhD in biochemistry and health biology at the University of Montpellier, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, USA. Recruited at CNRS in 2000, she first joined the Centre de Recherches en Biochimie Macromoléculaire in Montpellier, then was promoted to DR in 2010 and joined the Institut des Biomolécules Max Mousseron in 2014. Author of more than 80 scientific publications, she has received many awards. She has joined the Association Femmes & Sciences in 2008 and coordinates the Montpellier group as well as the Mentoring Program for Female PhDs at the University of Montpellier, which she set up in 2015. She has coordinated the organisation of the annual Femmes & Sciences conference in Montpellier in 2017 and is currently a board member of EPWS (European Platform for Women in Science).
