Mathieu Xémard

project leader at Centre Interdisciplinaire d'Études pour la Défense et la Sécurité (IP Paris)

A weapons engineer, Mathieu Xémard completed his training with a doctorate in the chemistry of rare earths at the École Polytechnique's Molecular Chemistry Laboratory before taking up a position as an expert chemist at the DGA. Since February 2024, he has been assigned to the Centre Interdisciplinaire d'Études pour la Défense et la Sécurité (CIEDS) at IP Paris, where he is working in particular to strengthen the sovereignty theme (industrial and energy), notably by building a teaching-research chair on the life cycle of strategic metals. He is also helping to strengthen the collaborative links between CIEDS and, more generally, IP Paris and the DGA.
