Mathieu O'Neil is director of the Critical Conversations Lab at the University of Canberra and Honorary Associate Professor of Sociology at the Australian National University where conducts research on the digital commons, the acquisition of informational skills and the trajectories of online causes and controversies. He was a founding member of the Virtual Observatory for the Study of Online Networks (VOSON) in 2006. He founded the Journal of Peer Production in 2010 and the Digital Commons Policy Council in 2021.
