Marius Preda

Associate Professor at Institut MINES-Télécom

Marius Preda is an internationally renowned researcher and professor in the field of multimedia technologies. Born in Romania, he received his engineering degree from the POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest in 1998. He then obtained his PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science from Université Paris V in 2002, and an eMBA from IMT Business School, Paris, in 2015. He is currently an associate professor at the Institut MINES-Télécom in Paris, where he also chairs the ISO MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) 3D graphics working group. In this capacity, Marius Preda has made major contributions to various ISO standards with technologies in the fields of 3D graphics, virtual worlds and augmented reality.
