Trained as an economist, Marie Delaplace is Professor Emeritus of Spatial Planning at the Université Gustave Eiffel (Lab'Urba). She conducts research on various possible vectors of territorial development (tourism, Olympic Games, transport infrastructures, etc.). She co-founded the Observatoire de recherche sur les méga-évènements (ORME).
