Jean-Pierre Diris is interministerial coordinator for France on IRIS² and GOVSATCOM, appointed by the French Prime Minister.
He manages projects in the following areas: governmental and civil/commercial space telecommunications (development of systems/satellites/payloads and R&D), development of systems/satellites/payloads and R&D), satellite navigation and search and rescue projects, space action projects (45 people).
For 13 years, he was responsible for the SYRACUSE 4 programme (military satellite telecommunications system) for the French defence, for ATHENA FIDUS (dual satellite telecommunications system) in cooperation with Italy, and for AGORA (French civil digital divide).
For 7 years he was also technical system manager for micro-satellites on climate change (PARASOL), space telecommunications (STENTOR technological satellite) and satellite navigation (GNSS-GALILEO). He also spent 7 years as a systems engineer on scientific projects (cosmology and stratospheric balloons).
