Gaël Richard is a professor at Télécom Paris and scientific co-director of the Hi! PARIS interdisciplinary center for artificial intelligence. His research focuses on the analysis and statistical processing of audio signals (speech, music...), and in particular on the development of statistical learning and artificial intelligence methods applied to audio signals. He has co-authored over 250 articles and invented 10 patents, and in 2020 was awarded the Grand Prix de l'IMT-Académie nationale des sciences for his contribution to research in science and technology. In 2022, he will receive an ERC “Advanced” grant from the European Union for a project on hybrid and interpretable models for sound analysis, transformation and synthesis. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.
