Dr. Florian Pohl is a geologist specialising in the transport and fate of plastics in natural environments. He has published scientific articles on microplastics on the ocean floor and has worked at universities in the Netherlands, the UK, and Germany. He currently leads an Emmy Noether research group funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) at University of Bayreuth, investigating how plastics fragment into microplastics and release chemical additives in the environment.
