Denis Couvet is a professor at the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle (MNHN), associate professor at the University of Lausanne and at Sciences-po Paris. He is an agricultural engineer, has a PhD and HDR in evolutionary sciences, is the author of more than 200 publications and is a member of the French Academy of Agriculture. His research focuses on biodiversity-society relations, through the notions of socio-ecosystem and device, linking five systems: knowledge and values, social organisation and technologies, and the biological-physical-chemical environment (nature). This is done in a dynamic and evolutionary framework, within the framework of ecological resilience thinking.
