Delphine Oudiette is Inserm research director and co-director of DreamTeam at Institut du Cerveau in Paris. Her work seeks to better understand what happens when we sleep at the cerebral, cognitive and subjective levels. How is sleep a different state of consciousness to being awake? What impact does it have on the way we think and act when we are awake? In particular, she is studying hybrid states on the borderline between wakefulness and sleep (lucid dreaming, sleepwalking, falling asleep, etc.) and is interested in the role of sleep and the dreams that accompany it in memory and creativity.
