After a thesis and an early career in the physics laboratories of the Collège de France, David Quéré did his research between the Laboratoire de Mécanique des Milieux Hétérogènes of the ESPCI-Paris and the Ladhyx* of the École Polytechnique, where he has a long-standing collaboration with Christophe Clanet. He is (or has been) also Scientific Advisor at Saint-Gobain and Procter & Gamble, as well as consultant for Nikon/Essilor. His research is in soft matter, with a particular interest in hydrodynamics at interfaces - drops, films, morphogenesis, fluid deposition, surfactants, biomimetics. He was awarded the CNRS Silver Medal in 2014 and the American Physical Society Fluids Dynamics Award in 2021.
