Corinne Cabassud is Professor Emeritus in Process and Environmental Engineering at INSA Toulouse and a researcher at the Toulouse Biotechnology Institute (TBI) laboratory. She headed the Process Engineering and Environment department at INSA Toulouse for 6 years, and taught water treatment for a Master's degree at the University of Science and Technology in Hanoi, Vietnam, for ten years. She contributed to the development of ultrafiltration for drinking water production and developed expertise in membrane processes for drinking water production and domestic wastewater treatment for water reuse. Her current work focuses on the production of drinking water from fresh or salt water, with the aim of improving its energy and environmental footprint and anticipating its adaptability to changes in water resources linked to climate change. She is interested in the autonomy and decentralization of water management to promote access to water for isolated populations, and is taking part in the European EXBRINER project on the valorization of desalination brines. She has published over 400 scientific papers, books and conferences, and supervised some thirty doctoral theses.
