Claire Chenu works at the UMR Ecosys in Grignon (Yvelines). Her research focuses on soil organic matter: its dynamics, the processes that explain its persistence, its role in soil functioning and carbon storage in agricultural soils. She is a member of the international scientific and technical committee of the 4 for 1000 initiative, "Soils for food security and climate". She coordinates the European Joint Program EJP SOIL: "Towards climate-smart sustainable management of agricultural soils".
