Cécilia Calheiros has a doctorate in sociology. Her thesis, defended at EHESS (Paris), focused on transhumanism as an international biopolitical social movement and its adaptation to local contexts. She analyzed the modes of engagement of French transhumanist activists. She is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Rouen Normandie, where she is working on the constitution and appropriation of scholarly and experiential knowledge of sport and diet in self-improvement practices.
